Reorienting the Pallet

Built as part of Sukkah City xDC, this small, temporary structure offered a space for reflection, renewal, and reconnection in a time of widespread disorientation. A sukkah is a traditional open-sided shelter constructed during the Jewish festival of Sukkot to honor impermanence, hospitality, and the fragility of home.
Made from salvaged pallets—urban discards elevated into spiritual form—this installation guided visitors through a sequence of light, shadow, and movement. At just 12 feet square and built for $1,500, it transformed humble materials into a sensory experience that lingered well beyond its short time on site.
